Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell was TV personality and ex-chef in the Institute of Culinary Education and formerly teaches cooking. She's the host of Secrets of a Restaurant Chef on the Food Network and the co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell, a Food Network host who has spiky blond locks and a lively persona, shows how you can cook dishes that are restaurant quality at home, using easy methods. Burrell is a chef who has been in the kitchen for a long time. Burrell is also a veteran of New York City's best restaurants. Additionally, she has learned about Italy's food traditions and its culture along with the natural landscape. As a child in Upstate New York Chef Burrell was attracted by the food. The Culinary Institute of America is where she enrolled to earn an English degree and a Communications diploma in Canisius College Buffalo NY. She says "I enjoyed being a Culinary Institute of American student. I was awed by every moment." I didn't have enough knowledge, couldn't do enough couldn't work hard enough. After graduating, Burrell worked at La Bottega del 30 in Tuscany and La Taverna del Lupo (in Umbria) while attending Umbria. She also attended the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners. It was during this time that her experience in Italy helped her to understand and appreciate the Italian philosophy and culture, and has made an impression on her culinary perspective. Burrell is a celebrity ambassador of the Juvenile Diabetic Research Foundation. She also has been on the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board which assists kids who have challenges. In her capacity as an inspirational speaker, she makes trips across the country to share her passion for cuisine and to promote her professional career as a chef. In her journey to culinary excellence, Anne often says that she feels so lucky to be able to share what I love most in life with others.
