Although Candice achieved fame in the field of acting, she initially began her career as a singer. Her debut album, It's Always the Innocent People in United States, was released in 2009 She was the composer on twelve of 14 tracks that comprise the album. In parallel, she was working on her acting career as well guest starring in two shows, including How I Met Your Mother and Greek. While her acting career grew steadily but the big break came in the form of The Vampire Diaries on CW. In a matter of minutes, the show became her a household name. Candice's acting was highly praised for her performance. The series ran for seventeen1 episodes across eight seasons. In 2018, she reprised her role in the spin-off series The Originals and in 2021, Legacies.
